Son of Heaven Zhou: Defying Heaven to Extend My Life by Three Hundred Years from the Start

Modern young man Chen Fan is betrayed by his girlfriend, Shangguan Wan, who calls him “a useless know-it-all, good at both arts and sciences.” Drunk, he slips and falls into the water, only to transmigrate as Ji Gongsu, King You of Zhou, a foolish ruler whose kingdom is doomed to fall. Surrounded by treacherous ministers at court, the Quanrong at the borders, and disloyal feudal lords, he faces a hopeless situation. His decision: conceal his abilities and play the pig to eat the tiger.

In public, he remains the same reckless king, obsessed with beauty and lighting the warning beacons for sport. In secret, he establishes the intelligence network Rouge Pavilion while promoting common-born military talents Shen Tong and Kuo Yue and building a new army, the Flying Tigers. Under the guise of “receiving heavenly secrets in a dream,” he promotes the curved-shaft plow and searches for sweet potatoes and potatoes. He invokes “the wrath of a foolish ruler” to purge the court and enact reforms.

He tests the feudal lords to distinguish the loyal from the treacherous, builds the Zhengguo Canal to strengthen the foundations of the state, and personally leads an expedition to drive the Quanrong three thousand li north. He establishes the Protectorate of the Western Regions and expands the realm. As powerful clans and regional governors crumble under the Favor-Allotment Edict, and the might of the Great Zhou cavalry resounds across the grasslands, a glorious age takes shape, with all under heaven submitting and every nation paying tribute.

With the realm secure and a golden age at hand, the transmigrator, honored as the “Sagely Martial Supreme Emperor,” chooses to hand power to his son. He then enjoys a carefree life with his beloved Baosi, retiring after accomplishing his mission and leaving behind an eternal legend.
