I’m an Extra NPC in the World of Film and TV

Lin Xiaoman, a 28-year-old nobody of a video creator in the film and TV category, has spent so much time binge-watching dramas that she’s developed a “detail radar” and an “empathic nature.” By chance, she gets bound to the ancient AI System “Little Mirror” and is forced to travel through classic screen stories as an “off-the-books NPC”: a server at Tongfu Inn, a neighbor renting a room in Ssangmun-dong, a substitute teacher in The Age of Awakening... Her mission is unusual: don’t take over the main plot or stage a comeback. Just fix overlooked “plot holes” and heal the emotional wounds hidden behind the characters’ lines.

She uses meme-filled comments to make the sleepless Tong Xiangyu laugh, takes Jeong Bong, who failed the college entrance exam, to look at the stars and tells him, “Even failure can shine,” and teaches the insecure Juxian that “life’s sugar belongs to you”... At first, the System sarcastically grumbles, “The Host is causing trouble again,” but it gradually warms to her kindness and secretly awakens to empathy. As Lin Xiaoman heals others, she rediscovers her passion for life as an overworked office drone and uncovers the System’s hidden longing for “human warmth” beneath its “mechanical devotion to order.”

There are no face-slapping comebacks, only the gentle intervention of an “observer”; no overturning the plot, just small acts of healing that make people feel “seen.” Watch this socially anxious video creator use her modern imagination to “patch things up” for familiar faces in classic shows, completing a two-way redemption across dimensions amid laughter and tears.

“I’m not the protagonist. I’m just an NPC who wants to make life a little sweeter for everyone.”
