Worldline Repairer

At 28, Lin Zhaozhao falls into a coma after a car accident, her consciousness trapped in a mysterious place called “Between the Cracks in Time.” There, she is bound as a “Worldline Repairer” and must transmigrate through various anime worlds, including Crayon Shin-chan, Detective Conan, and Chibi Maruko-chan, to mend the cracks in the universe caused by “human emotional neglect.” Otherwise, not only the virtual worlds but reality itself will collapse.

Her missions seem absurd: rekindle warmth between the Nohara couple, help the Detective Boys regain the courage to trust one another, and piece together memories for Maruko and her grandmother, who has Alzheimer’s. But the cracks in each world conceal the “unspoken love” of adults and the “unnoticed grievances” of children.

At first, Lin Zhaozhao is rational and detached, like an “emotional scanner.” But as she draws Shin-chan’s first family portrait, wipes away Conan’s tears after an investigation, and walks the old streets with Maruko to revisit her grandmother’s memories, the “passion” and “empathy” she had forgotten slowly begin to return.

Even more unexpectedly, System 007 turns out to be the senior editor who died saving her in the car accident. This “cross-dimensional mission” was actually a “salvation plan” he wove for her with his life: to help repair her bitter fight with her father and mend the feelings crushed by silence in every world.

When she finally repairs every crack and returns to reality, her father, lying in the hospital bed, uses his last strength to write: “Zhaozhao, don’t give up on what you love.”
