My Roommate Glows

In Fog City, perpetually blanketed in mist, twenty-five-year-old internet company wage slave Lin Xia lives a dreary life of “working overtime until midnight and eating takeout alone.” Her only wish is to save enough money to escape the “capital of overwork.” Then, one stormy night, she finds a mysterious, battered man glowing with a faint blue light beside her apartment complex’s trash bins. His name is A Xing, and her peaceful life is thrown into chaos.

A Xing claims to be a stranded traveler from the “Stardust Galaxy.” His spaceship crashed and ran out of energy. Not only can he make his fingertips glow, but his six hidden silver-blue tentacles can also make plants grow and repair small objects. Lin Xia initially plans to “put him up for a few days and make do,” but she gradually grows attached to this “spacey alien” after he uses his glowing tentacles to cook starlit yangchun noodles, helps her put together a PowerPoint that impresses her boss, and even rescues a stray cat in the neighborhood.

But when glowing plants start attacking people across Fog City and a mysterious research institute relentlessly hunts A Xing, Lin Xia realizes his arrival was no accident. Behind the city’s ever-present fog lies a vast secret about extraterrestrial civilization. The two must hide A Xing’s identity and evade their pursuers while searching for the energy core needed to repair his spaceship. Amid the thick mists of Fog City, they embark on a heartwarming and thrilling interplanetary cohabitation adventure.
