The Eccentric Big Shots of Hong Kong Movies

Modern-day office drone Chen Hui drops dead after staying up late rewatching Hong Kong movies. He transmigrates into 1995 Hong Kong, where he becomes the latest transfer student, sharing a name with the famous punching bag of Sheng Yuqiang Middle School. The original Chen Hui was timid and skinny, and the school bully, Dino, cornered him in the bathroom every day to extort money. He was beaten badly enough to land in the hospital just yesterday, leaving the new Chen Hui to inherit his troubles. On his first day awake, Dino corners him in the stairwell, and a beating seems inevitable when a mechanical voice suddenly rings in his mind: “Ding! The Ridiculous Show-Off System has successfully linked! Beginner mission: make Dino cry by insulting him in three different languages. Reward: ‘One-Minute Ip Man Experience Card’ + minor appearance adjustment (handsomeness +10%).” Chen Hui is stunned, but grits his teeth and lets loose in Mandarin, English, and his awful Cantonese. To his surprise, he really does make Dino cry, and wins the starry-eyed admiration of every girl in class. After the adjustment, his already handsome features become more defined, and his gaze takes on a roguishly charming edge. He looks just like Andy Lau in his youth.
