Nuclear-War Wasteland's Dark Zone: The Law of the Dark Forest

Ruthless and heartless, stealing other people’s supplies. A dark story, so don’t read if that’s not your thing.

After nuclear war ravages the world, the surface becomes a radiation-soaked “Dark Zone,” and the surviving humans huddle in underground cities to scrape by. Trust doesn’t exist here. The only rule is the dark forest law: “be seen and you die.” Every inch of the ruins hides a looter’s gun, and every bite of food is stained with the blood and tears of survival.

Game player Zhao Peng passes out after angrily smashing something over his stolen golden lion. He wakes up transmigrated as a new operative in the Dark Zone. His predecessor went into his first battle with shoddy gear his parents had spent their entire savings on, only to be ambushed. A level-one hunting round couldn’t pierce level-two armor. Shot and struggling back home, he died in bitterness. Now Zhao Peng has taken over his wounded body, and faces a family buried in debt, a gas mask with only half an hour of use left, and a wasteland riddled with deadly threats.

He turns the survival tactics he honed in the game into a blade, using caution and cunning to make up for his inferior gear, and scavenging for supplies in overlooked areas that veteran operatives disdain. Will he become someone else’s prey, or carve out a way to survive against all odds and bring home a bite of sweet energy paste for his parents? In the wasteland, staying alive is the harshest answer to the darkness.
