Campus Field Trip Diary: The Takeout Scandal

Zhao Peng, a high school sophomore, travels to Dongguang City on a study tour with his writing workshop teacher, hoping to earn some pocket money by writing novels. He is supposed to be working on his draft at the hotel to build up a readership for his debut, but gets hungry and orders seafood fried rice. On a whim, he adds a punctuality guarantee for an extra 0.27 yuan, accidentally setting off a storm: the rider hurls abuse at him, then bangs furiously on his door while delivering the food and tears the takeout bag.

Angry, Zhao Peng files a complaint. Instead of an apology, he gets an even more furious call from the rider, who accuses him of getting the rider fined and suspended from taking orders. As Zhao Peng blocks the number, it looks strangely familiar. Then he suddenly remembers: it belongs to the father of Li Xiaoqiang, the classmate who is always giving him a hard time! Old grudges and new trouble collide. On one side are more than a dozen contracted novels whose debut performance he has to monitor; on the other is the rider’s father seeking revenge. This delivery dispute during the study tour becomes Zhao Peng’s most unexpected “extracurricular training.”
