The Final Decree

In the neon metropolis of Donghai City in 2077, words are both power and disaster.

The Containment Failure Management Bureau is a mysterious organization devoted to teaching all its Wordcasters to “learn to keep their mouths shut.” It is the last... well, more or less the last line of defense protecting world peace.

Xu Yan, code-named “Repeat,” is a low-level field agent who only wants to clock out on time and grow an electronic cactus at the office. His Wordcraft ability is considered the most useless of all: “Repetition.” He can make any person or thing perfectly repeat its previous action or state.

Then, during a routine mission to deal with “Wordcraft contamination,” he accidentally makes a key witness “repeat” a dying message that should never have existed, exposing a shocking conspiracy buried deep within the Bureau.

As the “rules” of the entire world begin to collapse, his once good-for-nothing ability becomes the only key. To protect his pension and beloved electronic cactus, Xu Yan is forced to go from an agent who keeps people quiet to someone who has to speak up and find a way through the crisis.

“Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be a hero,” Xu Yan says, pushing up his glasses. “I just want to clock out normally. Is that so hard?”
