Spy War in the Republican Era: Shadows of Espionage

Lin Mo, a veteran fan of spy dramas, is “compensated” by a higher-dimensional being after a bizarre accident. He arrives in Northeast China in 1935 with an infinite static storage space and supplies worth tens of millions of pounds.

Who has he become? The highest-ranking “sleeper” the Communist Party’s Special Branch has sent into the Juntong, a spy who was supposed to die quietly on this isolated island in Fengtian.

From the start, the difficulty is hellish: his cover is on the verge of being blown, he is trapped in the Peace Hotel, surrounded by the various factions from the story of Peace Hotel, and outside the door lurks the ruthless, suspicious police chief Dou Shixiao.

But Lin Mo smiles. He knows the script inside out.

With his foreknowledge of the plot and the vast stores of gold, weapons, and spy equipment in his space, he walks the knife’s edge:

· At Bureau 76, he is an economic expert trusted by Li Shiqun;

· At the Special Higher Police, he is an “ally of the Empire” awarded the Cherry Blossom Medal;

· In the Juntong, he is a “kite” informant whose true allegiance even Dai Li cannot discern;

· And on the secret front led by Mr. Zhou, he is the strategic mastermind codenamed “Abyss”!
