Synopsis

The Tathagata laid a wager before Wukong: either spend five hundred years under Five-Finger Mountain, or descend to the mortal world, cultivate immortality, survive tribulations, and ascend. Sun Wukong chose the latter without a second thought! But he never imagined the old Tathagata was so wicked. He actually threw Sun Wukong's soul into three thousand lesser worlds and stuffed it into the body of Wu Dalang, the most spineless and miserable man imaginable! Pan Jinlian: “Dalang, it's time for your medicine.” Ximen Qing: “Wu Dalang, pay up for being a coward!” Wu Song: “Elder brother... who are you, really?” Maitreya Buddha suddenly showed up with a “debt of temporal causality.” He cornered Sun Wukong with an ultimatum: “You transmigrated into Wu Dalang and threw the Water Margin storyline into chaos. Either fix the script or your soul will be destroyed.” Sun Wukong not only rescued Wu Song from the executioner's platform, but also tricked him into becoming a pig-headed monster and forced him to perform “the pig demon carrying his bride.” “Second brother, put up with it for the sake of becoming an immortal!” Did the Tathagata think that tossing him into a spineless body would keep him trapped? What a joke! My old Sun's golden cudgel can pierce the heavens and throw the mortal world into chaos! The heroes of Water Margin? The gods of the Celestial Court? Anyone who dares block my way gets a cudgel to the face! From Wu Dalang to the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, from Yanggu County to the Nine Heavens of the Three Realms, Sun Wukong will prove with his might that even in the body of the most spineless man, he can still punch a hole in the sky!!!

I Want Pure Journey to the West, Not Primordial Chaos

Are there any straightforward Journey to the West stories? I want mythology, not a sequel to the Primordial World. Ideally, the protagonist should be original, and Tang Sanzang should be decisive and ruthless, cultivating his own Buddhism rather than becoming one of those bald Western monks.
