Synopsis

White Dragon Horse's Diary stars the Little White White Dragon, the dragon from Journey to the West who was banished to Eagle Sorrow Ravine. Written as a first-person diary, it chronicles his journey from being forced to serve as Tang Monk's mount to ultimately being appointed one of the Eight Divisions of Heavenly Dragons.

Blending immortal-hero fantasy with workplace humor, the book uses Little White Dragon's unique perspective to poke fun at the Eighty-One Tribulations along the pilgrimage: his boss Tang Monk's excessive compassion, his combative colleague Wukong, Bajie's gluttony and lust, the bizarre antics of gods and demons, and the trials and growth of a lowly “Buddhist employee.”

While recreating the classic story, the book sharply dissects the bureaucracy of Heaven and the Buddhist realm, as well as the rules for surviving in the workplace. It is an excellent Journey to the West fan work that remains faithful to the original while brimming with modern humor.
