Teacher Shen's Evening Breeze Melody

[Sweet romance + modern love + chaste romance + a match made in heaven] This is a warm, healing contemporary romance about protection, growth, and choices in a small southern town.

The story begins one summer afternoon. While sorting old books, librarian Lin Wan comes across a copy of The Book of Songs with handwritten sheet music tucked inside. The music belongs to Shen Zhiyi, a music teacher who has just returned to the small town to teach. One finds a home for her soul among books, while the other heals people’s hearts with music. Their meeting is as pure and natural as an evening breeze drifting into the sound of cicadas. But the challenges of real life soon follow: Lin Wan bears the weight of her family’s insistence that she choose a “stable” life, while Shen Zhiyi is torn between the musical dream he left behind and his present-day responsibilities. Small-town gossip, differences in outlook, the bonds of their families, and an unexpected opportunity to live apart all become real divides between them.

But this is not a story about compromise and giving up. Instead, it shows how two independent souls learn to grow through love, facing the truth of life while still choosing to hold on to each other and using their shared resolve to withstand society’s pressures. They argue in the pouring rain and sit in silence late into the night, yet they never forget the moment they first met: he played the unfinished “Evening Breeze,” and she softly recited, “In life or death, we made our vow to each other.” In the end, beneath an old locust tree in their small town, they tell everyone with a simple wedding that the most beautiful love is not a flawless fairy tale. It is choosing, after weathering life’s storms, to turn ordinary days into poetry and song together.
