One of My Twins Is Fake

Other people’s twins are copy-and-paste versions of each other. My brother Lin Xiaoguang and I are more like the “seller’s photos” and the “buyer’s photos”: he takes after Mom, while I take after Dad. Aside from sharing a birthday, the only thing we have in common is that we both want the other one sent back to the factory for a do-over.

Then, at our senior-year physical, I, a science-track student, stared at my blood type report and fell into deep thought:

The unbreakable laws of biology told me: an O-type dad + an A-type mom = absolutely no chance of producing a B-type kid.

And I just happened to be that damn B-type kid.

To find out which one of us was the family’s “impostor,” my brother and I launched a chaotic investigation:

Stealing hair: We turned Dad’s pillow into a bald patch.

Getting tested: We spent a fortune on a DNA-testing kit online, and the results were even more shocking than ordering a new dad online.

Digging up the past: In Grandma’s attic, we uncovered an even more outrageous secret from our parents’ generation: Dad was a twin, and so was Mom!

When the long-buried car accident records came to light, and “deceased” relatives suddenly started dancing on their own graves…

We realized that in this family, not only were the twins fake, but even “Mom” might be a high-quality knockoff.

This is a family upheaval sparked by a blood-type bug.

It’s also a hilarious (and heartbreaking) journey as two boys search for true love amid the ruins of a web of lies.

A fresh premise: “Twins” meet “a double-substitute romance,” stacking the tropes to the max and keeping the twists coming.

An addictive style: A sharp-tongued younger brother versus a sweet, brawny older brother. Their everyday bickering will have you in stitches, and the truth will leave you reaching for tissues.
