From the Start, We Ran Into Little Yixin, and Saved Yuanmingyuan

[Two-way Time Travel + Yixin + Yuanmingyuan + Saving the Nation]

Lin Zhixia had been obsessed with Yuanmingyuan for as long as she could remember, unable to get over its tragic destruction.

After spending twenty years immersed in history at Qingbei University, she could sketch the outlines of the ruins with her eyes closed. Then an accident sent her back to the twenty-second year of the Daoguang reign, where she was reborn as a four-year-old girl in the family of a low-ranking official in the Ministry of Works.

The day they first met, the peach trees at Yuanmingyuan were in full bloom, and she crashed straight into Yixin, the six-year-old Sixth Prince. Butterflies, milk candies, and little stream shrimp were the first things the two children shared.

The intelligent chip in her mind, “Baozi,” was her only secret. It contained a wealth of knowledge from the future, but trapped in a child’s body, she knew the gardens would be burned down eighteen years later and could do nothing to stop it.

From a little playmate to the strategist behind the scenes, she stayed by his side as he grew from a young boy in the imperial palace into a teenage prince. She hid modern ideas in childish words and worked to change his fate amid their everyday games.

When two-way time travel eventually became possible, one side held broken walls and ruins, while the other still boasted a magnificent garden of countless wonders.

She was determined to defy a century-old destiny, protect the springtime beauty of the gardens and the boy by her side, and rewrite that page of history steeped in humiliation.
