The Memory Crystal Judge

In New Kyoto, 2088, the rain never stops, and memories are the most expensive commodity.

Ling Chen, the top memory crystal artisan in the Abyss District, is used to repairing and selling other people’s joys and sorrows amid neon and shadows. That changes when a dying woman presses a searing crystal into his hand.

The crystal is both a curse and a key. It draws the attention of Everlasting Power, the tech giant that controls the city, whose most ruthless agents are soon hunting him. It also awakens a mysterious artificial intelligence hidden within.

To survive, Ling Chen is forced to join forces with this digital ghost. He hides in the bizarre black market for memories and navigates a resistance group sworn to wipe everything out. Gradually, he discovers that the crystal’s secret points to a terrifying project called “Messiah,” a conspiracy capable of trapping all of humanity in a cage of “happiness.”

When memories can be deleted, rewritten, and defined, what proof of your existence remains?

In this escape with his soul on the line, Ling Chen must choose: keep scraping by as a broker, or ignite the spark that could burn down the entire false world?
