Tender Feelings in Old Melodies

Su Wan was the most unremarkable apprentice at the music academy in Yong'an City. When she was falsely accused of stealing an ancient qin belonging to a powerful family, the only thing that stayed by her side was the battered copper bell on her bedside.

As she lay dying, the bell suddenly rang with faint notes. A clear, melodious female voice echoed in her mind: “Lingxi, it's time to wake up.”

Only then did she learn that she was a surviving descendant of the ancient Spirit Music Clan, and that Su Wan was merely a false name used to hide her identity. The copper bell was the clan's sacred artifact, the Echo Bell. It could capture the world's spiritual music and refine it into spells, and it also held the truth behind the Spirit Music Clan's destruction. The one who had massacred the clan all those years ago was none other than the Music Bureau's current head, now enjoying boundless prestige!

“How dare a lowly servant slander the sect master?” The enforcer elder's spiritual power bore down on her.

Su Wan tapped the copper bell with her fingertip. The music within the box surged. “Quiet.”

The good-for-nothing of yesterday made an instant comeback, using the bell's spiritual music to tame exotic beasts and the clan's secret arts to sweep through the Music Bureau. When the Echo Bell recorded a secret conversation between the sect master and the demon clan, Su Wan, now known as Lingxi, raised her qin to the heavens. “This blood debt will be repaid!”
