The Regrets of Humans, as Told by Cats

One rainy night, Lin Wan, a girl living alone, found an orange cat and named it Aju. Then one day, Aju suddenly spoke. Instead of meowing, it uttered words the old woman next door had kept hidden for half her life: “I should have gone south with him back then.” That was when Lin Wan discovered that the cat could hear the regrets buried in people’s hearts and repeat them word for word.

From then on, Lin Wan’s life was turned upside down. Aju revealed the coffee shop owner downstairs’ “I never apologized to my mother,” a senior colleague’s “I missed that important graduation defense,” and even Lin Wan’s own unspoken farewell to her father, hidden deep in her heart.

The regrets buried by time came to light through Aju’s “translations.” Lin Wan and Aju helped people make up for their regrets, and in the process, Lin Wan slowly untangled the knots in her own heart. It turned out that cats weren’t speaking of regret. They were offering a tender confession that helped people find their courage again.
