Old Melodies of Youth

Lin Che, a menial disciple of the Qingyun Sect, is the sect’s laughingstock for having a “damaged spiritual root.” When he tries to draw in spiritual energy, it scatters, and the elders declare that he will “never glimpse the path to immortality.” The only thing he treasures is the yellowed copy of the Forgotten Worries Score, the sole memento left behind by his late master. No one knows that half of a Rhythm Jade is hidden between its pages, or that he and Su Wanxing, the saintess imprisoned in the Demon Abyss, are heirs to an ancient legacy as twin spirits of music.

To rescue Su Wanxing after she is abducted by the demons, Lin Che ventures into the Demon Abyss. As he lies on the brink of death, his blood soaks the score, awakening the Rhythm Jade and sending the Supreme Mystery Rhythm Canon surging into his mind. From then on, he uses the jade as his guide and melodies as his blades, cultivating the immortal path of music despite his damaged spiritual root.

The immortal sect’s elders laugh that “saccharine tunes can never lead to the Great Dao”? He plucks a string and splits the sky, condensing ordinary notes into a sword to face immortal blades head-on. The demons covet the power of the twin spirits and ambush him? He plays a melody to summon spiritual beasts, which obey his every command and trample the demon camp. When the Forgotten Worries Score plays “Twin Spirits in Harmony,” Lin Che and Su Wanxing finally understand: this journey to immortality is bound together with the ties of youth, and it is also the return of the twin spirits. Watch as a young man wields his score as a blade, using melody to join old friends in composing a magnificent song that will bring peace to the world!
