Paper Shadows Chasing Ashes

In the shadowy underbelly of Piltover, where steel and steam intertwine, a young man named Kaden is lost in a delusion of pursuit. He clumsily imitates the legendary Virtuoso, Jhin, using flimsy scraps of paper soaked in mysterious magical ink to conjure cheap, dangerous illusions in filthy alleyways and abandoned corners. He seeks neither money nor destruction. He is driven by a pathological hunger to stage a “perfect performance,” hoping to catch the distant, cold gaze of his idol, Jhin. But his crude “art” only draws the relentless pursuit of Caitlyn, captain of the Enforcers, and fearful curses from the residents of the Undercity. When Jhin replies with a blank sheet of paper, Kaden, in his despair and madness, takes it as the highest form of approval. At last, in the bloody finale of a dilapidated theater, Kaden sacrifices himself, using his life as ink and his skin as paper to stage a “perfect performance” that plunges every witness into the deepest terror within their own hearts. Far away, Jhin watches through a telescope. Before the crimson curtain falls, he offers a casual yet chilling verdict.
