Drunk on Dreams, Free and Easy: Li Wangyou

“Tipsy Wanderer” Li Wangyou is a carefree martial-world vagabond who spends his days drinking. A long sword and the seemingly wild but actually masterful “Drunken Eight Immortals” sword style are all he has. A bloodstained secret letter and Su Xiaowan, a frail woman who knows the three major sects of the Righteous Alliance are hiding a shocking scandal, drag him into the heart of a storm. Powerful enemies surround them, and danger lurks at every turn. The pursuit by the respectable orthodox sects is even more perilous than the forces of evil. He never lets go of his wine flask, staggering along with bleary eyes, yet his sword flashes like thunder and lightning, cutting a path through blood when all hope seems lost. Wine is both a veil and a key. The secrets hidden in Su Xiaowan’s Jiaowei zither collide with Li Wangyou’s horrific, long-buried past amid the clash of blades. From bustling taverns to remote frontier passes, from sinister inns to poisonous, miasma-choked forests, the seemingly ridiculous drunkard guards the woman carrying an ancient zither as they cross a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, determined to tear apart the vast web woven from hypocrisy and lies. At last, atop Xiaoyao Peak, Li Wangyou faces the Righteous Alliance leader and his gathered forces. With the never-before-seen eighth move of the Drunken Eight Immortals, “Carefree Wandering,” he shatters the illusion. The wine flask hits the ground, the sword’s light fades, and only the legend of the “Tipsy Wanderer” drifts on the wind.
