Pure Yang, Eight Extremes: A Long Song Guarding the Realm

Synopsis of Pure Yang Eight Extremes: A Song of Guarding the Boundary

In a border village in the Great Xia world, young Lin Zhao’s life should have been as peaceful as a mountain stream, until a Chaos Rift erupted ten years ago. His parents died beneath the claws of Chaos Beasts while protecting him. Uncle Zhou, the village’s only surviving outer disciple steward of the Pure Yang Pavilion, pulled him from a pile of corpses and taught him the Pure Yang Eight Extremes Art.

This martial art, inherited from ancient times, rests on the principles of “settling the body and channeling qi, rooting everything in unified force.” Its seemingly ordinary stance training and techniques for exerting force are actually a “boundary-guarding method” for communicating with heaven and earth and bringing chaos into balance. Starting out as an ordinary mortal, Lin Zhao drives back hordes of Chaos Beasts in Qingyan Village with his ruthless “elbow strike that shatters stone” and quick-witted “sliding step to evade enemies,” earning the villagers’ name for him: “Little Guardian.”

Only after entering the cultivation world with the foundations of the Pure Yang Stance does he realize that heaven and earth are far vaster than he imagined: the century-old feud between the Pure Yang Pavilion and the Chaos Cult, the Profound Yin Sect’s distorted control over “order,” and the remnant souls of “boundary guardians” sleeping in secret realms… Lin Zhao dazzles everyone in the sect tournament with his “unified-force flight,” yet is doubted as “unlikely to amount to much” because he is “too soft-hearted.” He befriends Su Ming, a supremely talented yet aloof young man, and Liu Qing, a kind and resilient girl skilled in medicine, but a conspiracy leads him to witness Su Ming’s death and Liu Qing’s soul scattering. It turns out that the price of protection goes far beyond physical pain.

To revive his friends and reveal the truth behind chaos and order, Lin Zhao ventures deep into the Cangwu Secret Realm. Through trials of the “earth-vein laws” and “spatial laws,” he grasps the truth of combining hardness with softness. Wielding a “fragment of the Pure Yang Boundary Core,” he contends with the Chaos Cult’s “Bone-Eroding Poison” and the Profound Yin Sect’s “treasure-stealing plot.”
