The Twilight Sentinel and the Tide of Black Fog

At the most dangerous frontier of Runeterra, where the waters between Ionia and the Shadow Isles meet, lies a lonely little island called Twilight Watch, along with its vital lighthouse. The lighthouse keeper, Ilyana, a Twilight Sentinel, relies on her family’s heirloom, the “Twilight Crystal,” to keep the beacon burning. Its light is faint, but enough to drive back the thin Black Mist and offer the only refuge to ships crossing this deadly sea. Yet the crystal’s energy is dwindling at an unprecedented rate, and the Black Mist has grown unnaturally active and more corrosive, like a slumbering beast awakening. Supply ships have vanished without a trace. On a stormy night, a merchant vessel nearly falls prey to the Black Mist when the lighthouse suddenly dims.

To protect the island and the lives passing through, and to discover the truth behind the Black Mist’s strange activity, Ilyana must sail alone in her frail little boat, the Morning Dew, into the perilous depths of waters even Ionian fishermen consider forbidden. Surrounded by twisted, mutated sea creatures, she must find the rare, fabled “Twilight Seaweed” that can recharge the crystal. On this journey, where death is never far away, she will discover the seaweed’s strange withering, encounter an eerie predator found in no record, and ultimately touch, within the lighthouse crystal, a dark pulse connected to the very source of the Shadow Isles, one that makes her soul tremble. The duty to protect and the shadow of corruption drive Ilyana into the heart of the storm.
