Sha Wujing Stirs Up Trouble in Journey to the West

When Pangu opened the heavens, clear qi rose to form the sky, while turbid qi sank to become the earth. Heaven and earth separated, and all things began to grow. Yet before chaos had fully receded, a wisp of “Dark Spirit” was sealed in the abyss of the Netherworld. It longed to shatter the order of the world and return everything to chaos.

Thousands of years later, Tang Sanzang and his disciples had completed their journey to the West to fetch the scriptures. Sha Seng was bestowed the title of Golden-Bodied Arhat and should have been enjoying the fruits of his cultivation. But the Dark Spirit awakened and took control of demons once sealed away, throwing the Three Realms into turmoil. The Jade Emperor wanted to send heavenly troops to suppress it, but the Tathagata stopped him. He had seen within Sha Seng a trace of the “World-Calming Spirit Essence” from the time Pangu opened the heavens, the only force capable of holding the Dark Spirit in check.

But Sha Seng refuses to walk the same old road again. This time, he wants to stir things up his own way. With Sha Seng's signature honesty and wisdom, he'll turn Heaven, Earth, and the Human Realm upside down and find a path of his own.
