The Honghuang Era: The Creation of the Gods

The story begins in the "Primordial Era," after Pangu created heaven and earth. The world had only just taken shape and was still unstable: pure and turbid energies intertwined, the sun and moon had yet to shine, and mountains and rivers remained unformed. After Pangu's body transformed into all things, traces of his divine power lingered between heaven and earth, giving rise to the first generation of gods as well as the "ferocious beasts" and "malevolent energies" born from chaotic, turbid energy. On this shadowy land, the gods and ancient peoples had to contend with the perils of the primordial wilderness while seeking, through conflict, the first glimmerings of "order," ultimately moving from chaos toward civilization.
