Red Glass Burns Across the Land

A-Li lived in a tavern on the frontier. In a single night, her city was destroyed, and all her loved ones perished. Only she was saved by a mysterious figure in black. Ten years of hardship could not cool her burning resolve. She had grown into the fearsome master assassin known as “Chi Li.”

To avenge her family, she disguised herself as a low-ranking maid and infiltrated the general’s residence of her enemy, Helian Tao. But just as her arrow of vengeance was about to fly, she discovered to her horror that the person who had saved her was none other than Tuoba Lie, the Northern Desert’s god of war and supreme commander! Worse truths soon followed: behind the massacre of Yuncheng lay a shocking conspiracy devised by the emperors of two nations, and she was nothing more than a pawn who should have been discarded long ago...

From a desperate orphan to a blade of ice, from vengeance burning in her heart to a maze of secrets, she is forced onto an even more perilous and epic path of revenge and truth-seeking.
