Fantasy Three Kingdoms: From Breaking Off an Engagement to Becoming Emperor

Emperor Wu of Han established the "Favor-Allotment Grand Array," using mystic arts to suppress the bloodlines of collateral branches of the imperial clan and secure the rule of the direct line. He also forged ten thousand dragon-patterned jade pendants and bestowed them on the collateral branches. In the event that the Han dynasty faced ruin, those with the right fate could use a pendant to awaken their bloodline and defend the Han.

By the end of the Han dynasty, the array had gradually weakened the bloodlines of the collateral branches. Liu Bei, a descendant of the Prince of Zhongshan, possessed a jade pendant but had been reduced to an ordinary man in Zhuo County, selling straw sandals. The wealthy Wang family considered him poor and lowborn, and publicly broke off his engagement while insulting him.

Humiliated and enraged, Liu Bei accidentally activated the jade pendant and swore, "Never look down on a young man just because he's poor." With the pendant's guidance, he found Guan Yu and Zhang Fei and became sworn brothers with them. He used the pendant to unlock special abilities and recruit worthy talents. At last, in Chengdu, he unleashed the full power of his bloodline and proclaimed himself emperor, fulfilling the plan Emperor Wu of Han had laid long ago.
