Chasing Jade: The Hidden Dragon Takes His Place

Modern special forces soldier Xie Zheng transmigrates into the body of the young master of the Xie family, which has been massacred. On a snowy night in Lin'an, he encounters Fan Changyu, an orphan from the Western Regions, and the two forge a pact to live and die together. The two kings join forces, starting with a humble butcher shop and using modern strategies to unite the Ink Feather Guards and the Crimson Phoenix Camp. They build an intelligence network called Shadow Pursuit, bring the Canal Gang under their control, and bring down the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion, advancing step by step toward the capital.

After entering the capital, the two kings engage in a contest of political intrigue: they win the people's hearts with a battle over grain prices, bring Wei Yan down with a war of public opinion, and use the imperial examination case to make others kill for them. They also seize military manuals from the imperial mausoleum and contend with Emperor Jing in court, gradually exposing Wei Yan's monstrous crimes of colluding with the enemy and betraying the country.

When the Northern Di invade, the two kings are summoned in the hour of crisis to lead troops against them. They form an elite special forces army and crush the northern threat, earning military merit so great that it alarms the throne. In the end, they join forces to quell the succession struggle, kill Wei Yan in the Golden Hall to avenge the blood debt, and force Emperor Jing to clear the names of those implicated in both cases. They ultimately become the unrivaled twin kings who bring the realm under one rule.
