Meng Po, Who Can't Cross the River of Forgetfulness

Snow falls over Chang’an, and a sword tassel conceals an injustice. The swordswoman Shen Qingci arrives in the capital with her Shattered Snow Sword, seeking the truth behind her elder brother’s mysterious death. The silver tassel on its hilt, engraved with the character “Yuan,” is her only clue.

When she first meets Lu Jingyuan, commander of the secret guards, he stares at the tassel and declares, “This doesn’t belong in your hands.” The tassel is somehow tied to the orphaned survivor of the Su family, a victim of the wrongful case of the Snowy Night ten years ago. The court is rife with undercurrents, and the chancellor has laid a deadly trap. Her brother’s death, the Su family massacre, and a Northern Di spy are all entangled in a military talisman capable of overturning Chang’an.

Lu Jingyuan’s identity is turned on its head: he is actually Su Muyuan, the surviving heir of the Su family. From suspicion to standing side by side, the two risk their lives together, quelling a rebellion at the Heaven-Worshipping Ceremony and surviving an ambush in the secret passageways. The tassel gleams against the snow, concealing both a blood feud and a love built on entrusting each other with their lives. Now that the truth is out, can they protect Chang’an’s peace and clear a name ten years too late?
