The Seventh Missed Call

On a stormy night, forensic pathologist Lin Zhixia is devastated when her younger sister, Lin Zhiyu, falls to her death. The police rule it a case of “emotional instability,” but Lin Zhixia is convinced that her sister, who had been looking forward to the future, would never have taken her own life.

While sorting through her sister's belongings, she finds an old silver phone that raises new questions. In the hour before the fall, the same unknown number called seven times without an answer. In her notes, her sister had left a frightened message: “He's here. Don't look for him...”

The police later unlock her sister's computer and find forged contracts, records of leaked information, and a threat from an anonymous “boss”: “If you dare betray me, don't think your sister will live either.”

Just as the investigation reaches a dead end, a text arrives on the old phone: “Want to know the truth? Meet me tomorrow night at the usual place. Don't tell the police.” Do the willow trees by Nanhu Lake or the abandoned factory conceal secrets? Was the person behind the seven missed calls a killer or an ally?

With the police lying in wait on one side and a deadly trap on the other, Lin Zhixia grips her phone and steps into the fog. To clear her sister's name, she has no choice but to seek the truth amid the danger.
