Xu Changchuan's Romantic Entanglements

Xu Changchuan is 28, still single, and divorced. He was born in a poor mountain village in the northwest. Although it’s already the 21st century, the village still hasn’t completely escaped poverty. After graduating from college, Xu Changchuan was eager to make his fortune. He quit his stable job without hesitation, returned to his hometown with his girlfriend, and leased a fishpond to raise fish. But things didn’t go as he’d hoped. A torrential rainstorm destroyed all his dreams: the fishpond embankment burst, and the flood swept away more than 300,000 yuan worth of fingerlings. He was so devastated he could hardly cry. His wife, whom he’d only recently married, started demanding a divorce. As the saying goes, “Husband and wife are like birds in the same forest; when disaster strikes, they each fly away.” His wife, Cheng Xue, complained that their family was too poor, and now they were saddled with more than 300,000 yuan in debt. Xu Changchuan had borrowed the money to lease the fishpond from the village-township bank. She didn’t want to live a hard life with him, so she went to find her first love, whose family owned a factory. After the divorce, Xu Changchuan bought a train ticket and headed to Binhai City. Binhai was an early-opened coastal port city, many times more prosperous than the small city near his hometown. There, he met a beautiful landlady, a charming, intelligent, and equally beautiful female neighbor, and a gorgeous vice president of Aiyimei Company. After a series of emotional entanglements with these three beauties, which path will Xu Changchuan choose in the end?
