Cracks in the Memory Crystal

Ling Chen, a memory-repair technician in the Shadow District, takes a dangerous job to save his gravely ill sister, Ling Shuang, and accidentally gets caught up in the secrets of Everlasting Memories Group.

Ying Ge, a member of the resistance group Dream Collectors, appears and offers “Life Memory Crystals” as bait, persuading Ling Chen to help steal the Group’s core, the “Origin Core.” As they begin working together, they build trust and disguise themselves to infiltrate the Upper District.

Ling Chen discovers that the “Life Memory Crystals” are a lie, shattering their trust. Meanwhile, the main antagonist, Sorn, offers him an alliance, placing him in a moral dilemma over whether to betray the others.

Ling Chen pretends to cooperate with Sorn, but plans to use the final showdown between both sides to infiltrate the heart of the “Origin Core.” He discovers that the “Origin Core” is a life-form made up of countless memories, and that saving his sister will mean erasing another soul.

5. **Ending**: Ling Chen gives up on destroying the core or bargaining over it, and chooses instead to free all the memories held captive within. The flood of memories sweeps away Sorn’s rule, plunging Radiant City into chaos and renewal. His sister’s condition stabilizes, and he and Ying Ge become outlaw lovers as well as the ones who usher in a new age. Sorn’s consciousness becomes a digital ghost, setting the stage for a sequel.
