Lin Peilan, Retired Professor of Classical Literature

Su Wan is a public relations director whose name strikes fear into the industry. She can pull a company on the brink of bankruptcy back from the edge of a PR disaster, and make a celebrity mired in scandal look spotless overnight. She believes in data, logic, and strategy, and is convinced there is no crisis that can’t be defused.

Until she encounters the biggest crisis of her life: her mother-in-law, Lin Peilan, a retired professor of classical literature.

Professor Lin quotes the classics and plans every word and move with care. Su Wan parries each attack in turn, treating family tensions like a PR crisis. When a modern PR queen meets a traditional-culture nitpicker, a family war officially begins, fought over questions like “Are you drinking this tonic soup today or not?” and “Why haven’t you had a baby yet?”

Her husband, Gu Mingzhe, is a programmer trying to use coding logic to understand the war between two women. He trembles under the crossfire, doing his best to keep the family “server” running smoothly.

This is a war without gunfire, and a hilarious symphony of city life. Watch Su Wan use her thirty-six PR strategies to match wits with her “hardcore” mother-in-law, and ultimately find the best balance between family, career, and self amid the chaos.
