Young Brocade Guard: Lingyun

A new story is out! Come read my work on Tomato Novel. I hope you’ll enjoy it. Your support inspires me to write, and I’ll do my best to tell every story well! As the son of a Vice Commissioner of the Embroidered Uniform Guard, Ling Yun wears a flying-fish robe and carries an embroidered spring saber, traveling between the palace and the streets under his mentor Zhou Chong. From a mischievous boy who counted pigeons to a detective with an eye for detail, he displays astonishing powers of deduction as he investigates cases: the bird-claw patterns on a game piece lead him to think of an artisan’s iron claw shoes; the herbal ingredients in the sandalwood incense expose a plot involving a sleep-inducing scent. At last, during a standoff in the bell tower, he uses his wits to defuse the crisis. After the case is solved, Emperor Jiajing personally awards him an embroidered spring saber. This not only symbolizes official recognition, but also echoes the story’s metaphor for his growth: “Like a seed, the truth will eventually sprout.”
