I Inherited a Legacy on Mount Tai: I Use Underworld Technology to Defend the Nation

During an autumn rainstorm, I accidentally activated an incised rune on a cliff carving at Mount Tai.

As a deep-blue energy drilled into the space between my brows, the earth trembled.

The 749 Bureau rescued me from the ruins shrouded in rain and mist. Only after they brought me back to headquarters did I discover the truth: spiritual qi revival had begun worldwide, and nations were vying for supremacy.

Just as everyone was reeling from my inheritance of the Underworld, alarms blared one after another.

“Bharata monks have broken through the boundary! The projection of a Bharata deity is manifesting!”

“Fusang onmyoji have summoned the shadow of the Eight-Headed Serpent, polluting the Yellow Sea!”

“Western legions, accompanied by demon-contractors, have landed on the coast!”

As foreign supernatural forces wantonly ravaged our homeland, I ignited the netherworld talisman flame at my fingertip.

“The Western legions have joined forces with devils? I'll summon a hundred thousand ghost soldiers to crush their battle lines.”

“Fusang demons dare defile the Yellow Sea? The Netherworld Blood Sea will sink them for all eternity.”

“The phantom gods of Bharata are causing trouble? The Ghost King of the Underworld will come to the mortal realm and suppress them himself.”

On the day I finally became a Heavenly Master who guards the nation, I heard an ancient warning from deep within the Earth:

“The power of the Underworld was never meant to protect. It was meant to destroy!”
