The Bright Moon Imprisoned in the Jade Palace

In Zhaojing, Xie Heng, an assistant minister at the Court of Judicial Review, is the man countless noblewomen dream of marrying. Cool and aloof as an immortal, he solves cases with divine skill. Day after day, splendid carriages crowd the front of his residence, all hoping to win a fleeting glance from him.

No one knows that deep within the palace, on a night when the moon hangs high, this brilliant and dignified official kneels before the ornate couch in Princess Xiao Lingyi’s bedchamber.

Her cold, slender nails trace his jade-like cheek, leaving an intimate red mark. The princess speaks lazily, her voice edged with ice: “Xie Heng, you know I can raise you to the heavens with ease, and I can just as easily make you fall to your ruin.” Candlelight flickers, casting shifting shadows in his eyes. After a moment of silence, he raises a hand and slowly, firmly loosens his immaculate collar, revealing a secret, strangely alluring vermilion brand beneath his collarbone. His voice is low and hoarse: “Your servant will always belong to the princess.”

As political intrigue and bloodshed sweep through the court, and a mystery about their origins buried for years comes to light, will this relationship, born of possession, lead them to the abyss of destruction or the shore of redemption?
