Forensic Nightmares: A Century of Corpse Whispers

Lin Zhixia is a gifted modern forensic pathologist whose severe social anxiety stems from childhood trauma. On the verge of death in a bizarre explosion, her consciousness accidentally transmigrates across a hundred years, forming a profound link with the soul of Yin Zhaoxi, a brilliant female forensic pathologist who was murdered along with her entire family a century ago. Lin Zhixia awakens in the modern era carrying Yin Zhaoxi’s resentment, unfinished mission, and fragments of forensic knowledge far ahead of their time, though the limitations of modern technology prevent her from fully applying it.

Lin Zhixia discovers that she can “hear” the silent whispers of corpses, a manifestation of Yin Zhaoxi’s lingering thoughts. Even more astonishingly, she finds that a series of bizarre serial murders in the city of Hanjiang, committed a century later and modeled on old cases from the Japanese occupation, may have a secret connection across time to the mastermind behind the destruction of Yin Zhaoxi’s family. A vast criminal organization rooted in the shadows of history, the Ghost Shadow Society, gradually emerges.

To uncover the truth behind her own journey through time, complete Yin Zhaoxi’s revenge, and prevent modern-day tragedies, Lin Zhixia must overcome her inner demons. With the help and scrutiny of Han Taiyu, a sharp-tongued yet perceptive and upright police captain, and Jiang Zaihe, a forensic consultant and mysterious heir to a financial conglomerate, she must combine their two generations of forensic expertise, follow the clues, and race against time. Through a century of fog, she must track down the ghostly killer who slips through the cracks of time and expose a shocking conspiracy that has endured for a century.
