The Prince of Jing's Southern Beauty

Xiao Chengce, the powerful Ninth Lord of Prince Jing, rescued Shen Zhaohua, a descendant of the imperial family who had fallen on hard times in Jiangnan, ten years ago and secretly raised her to become the “Stunning Beauty of the Southern Kingdom.” The heroine becomes famous across the land for her performance of “The Nine Phoenixes Sing,” but rumors that she is a “substitute” plunge her into a storm of public opinion. The hero publicly face-slaps those who provoke her, showing his affection through gestures such as presenting her with a black iron token engraved with a dragon and holding her as she sleeps late at night. As the heroine’s origins come to light, the two face the schemes of the imperial court together. She uses her ability to summon spirits through ancient dance to resolve crises, while he gradually takes control of the court to protect her. In the end, they dispel the substitute rumors, reveal the truth about her rescue and upbringing ten years earlier, and find their happily-ever-after: “one life, one love.”
