A Blended Family in the Public Sector: Three Babies!

[Blended family + marriage and romance + three children + public-sector workplace + mother-in-law/daughter-in-law conflict + nightmare ex-wife + scumbag ex-husband + laughter through tears + ordinary people turning their lives around] A whirlwind second marriage, then a third-baby bombshell! Just two months into their marriage of convenience, Lin Xiaomei stares at the two lines on the pregnancy test, her mind buzzing. In the living room, her stepdaughter Xiaoyu is helping her son Xiaohao with his homework: “The answer isn’t ‘1+1=king’!” Her husband, Chen Jianping, grips a calculator and frowns at the utility bill: “We ran the air conditioner three extra hours last month. That cost us another 5.2 yuan...” A second child? Add Xiaoyu, and that makes three! Fines, prenatal checkups, diapers... Lin Xiaomei’s vision goes dark. Lin Xiaomei (heroine): A generous stepmother who cares about saving face, pregnant with her second child as soon as she gets married (actually, it’s her third!). She worries her ex-husband will laugh at her, his ex-wife will flaunt her wealth, and her coworkers will gossip... Chen Jianping (hero): A penny-pinching, funny old hand in the public sector. He’s always calculating: fines? Formula? Will the house burst at the seams? Ex-wife (Zhang Li): A wealthy businesswoman who went into the private sector. Every time she visits her daughter, designer gifts leave the kid dazzled! Ex-husband (Wang Wei): An arrogant elite who never misses a chance to show up and gloat. Four families in a chaotic showdown! Her family wants financial support, her in-laws resent the expense, and the exes stir up trouble! The public sector is full of pitfalls! Passed over for awards? Bosses shifting blame? A parachuted-in princeling causing a disaster? Life is a riot! Money is tight, the house is small, and their dignity is in tatters! Watch this thrown-together couple, a “penny-pinching miser” and a “face-saving queen,” weather the daily domestic battles and raise three children with a little warmth and humanity!
