The Flower Demon’s Tribulation

【Past and Present Lives + Devoted Love + A Hundred Cycles of Reincarnation + An Unyielding Obsession】 She is a flower spirit forgotten by time, searching through a thousand years of reincarnation for a soul that can never remember her. When the first snow of Chang'an fell on his shoulder, she felt mortal affection for the first time. The gentle scholar's eyes reflected the cherry blossoms, unaware that the young woman before him had taken form from the tree that had kept him company through countless nights of study. The lanterns of the Lantern Festival were so beautiful that she forgot to conceal her true form. The shock in his eyes softened in an instant: "So it was you." Every reunion in every life that followed was another cruel joke played by fate. She watched him reincarnate as a Jiangnan painter, a steppe warrior, and a frontier general, yet each time they were separated by life and death just before they could recognize each other. The judge of the Three Realms Office watched coldly: "Those who force a destined match will incur Heaven's wrath." But she willingly offered up the five petals of her life flower in exchange for five chances to meet again. When the misty rain over modern-day West Lake blurred the camera lens, the photographer suddenly grabbed the florist by the wrist. "I've dreamed of you in every life." The last cherry blossom petal began to wither, and thunderclouds of heavenly punishment gathered overhead. At last, she could speak aloud the confession sealed away for a thousand years: "I don't ask for eternal life. I only wish to grow old by your side." Cherry blossoms bloomed out of season across the city, bearing witness to a love that spanned a thousand years. The deepest confession, it turned out, isn't "I love you," but "I will always recognize you."
