Where the Shore Meets You

A workplace romance between Chen An, a water conservancy engineer, and Lin Wansu, the daughter of a wealthy family. They meet in a university club, and Lin Wansu falls for Chen An at first sight, pursuing him passionately. But because of his impoverished background and wounded pride, Chen An keeps his distance. After graduation, Lin Wansu gives up her inheritance and the chance to study abroad, choosing instead to join Chen An's company and start at the bottom. They gradually grow closer at work, taking part in a project in Africa together and facing harsh conditions and workplace challenges. Lin Wansu's determination and devotion gradually melt the wall around Chen An's heart, while his gentleness and professionalism make her even more certain of her choice. Confident, radiant, persistent, and resilient, Lin Wansu dares to give up a comfortable life for love and proves her worth through her actions. She believes love and self-fulfillment need not conflict. Reserved and insecure, Chen An is rigorous and professional, but suppresses his feelings because of family burdens and their class difference. He gradually learns to face his feelings and accept the help and love of others. The missed connection between their leaders, Zhang Wei and Zhou Jin, hints at the lifelong regret that class differences can bring. Though such differences may fade with time, a missed chance lasts a lifetime. Their story encourages the protagonists to pursue love bravely. Lin Wansu's parents are an obstacle to their relationship and embody conflicts of class and proxy. They believe that standing higher lets you see farther, and want their daughter to have a broader perspective so she can rise higher and go further. Lin Wansu's decision to give up her inheritance makes her choice of love all the more meaningful, and reflects her belief that love and self-fulfillment need not conflict. Through the development of their relationship, the story explores class differences, self-worth, and the balance between love and career.
