The Eight Banners of the Manchu Qing: The Plain Yellow Banner

The Eight Banners system was the Manchu military and household registration system of the Qing dynasty. Each banner had its own color: Plain Yellow, Plain White, Plain Red, Plain Blue, Bordered Yellow, Bordered White, Bordered Red, and Bordered Blue. The Plain Yellow Banner was the strongest in battle and the most orthodox of the armies, winning countless victories for the Great Qing.
