Northeast Underworld: The Destined Crime Lord

The story takes place after 1949, during the early years of the People’s Republic of China, spanning the 1950s through the 1970s. Cities in Northeast China, such as Shenyang and Changchun, were filled with upheaval and change during this period, as underworld forces grew increasingly rampant. Social transformation and instability provided fertile ground for criminal organizations. Their activities went beyond traditional gambling, smuggling, and debt collection, becoming deeply entangled in urban underground politics, struggles over resources, and violent conflicts.
