Ne Zha: The Spirit Pearl Returns to Its Place

Ne Zha is the third son of Li Jing, the Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King, and Lady Yin. His elder brothers are Jin Zha and Mu Zha. His name comes from the unusual circumstances of his birth: after Lady Yin carried him for three years and six months, she gave birth to a ball of flesh. Li Jing split it open, and Ne Zha sprang out. Ne Zha’s image originated as a Buddhist guardian deity, was later adopted by Taoism, and became a demon-subduing celestial deity revered in Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. Appearance and abilities: Ne Zha is usually depicted as a young hero clad in red armor, riding Wind Fire Wheels, and wielding a Fire-Tipped Spear and a Universe Ring. He has extraordinary powers and can transform into a being with three heads and six arms. He possesses many magical treasures, including the Universe Ring, the Red Armillary Sash, and the Fire-Tipped Spear. Ne Zha is forthright and fearless, dares to challenge authority, and has a strong sense of justice.
