A Collection of Mystery and Detective Stories from Old Shanghai

Shanghai, 1925. The city stands at the heart of a turbulent age, where Eastern and Western cultures intermingle, political forces are tangled together, and underworld power simmers beneath the surface. Ordinary people drifting through the smoky haze beneath the city's towering buildings often have no idea they are mere specks in the tides of history. Shanghai, this legendary metropolis, awaits a sage who can unravel its many mysteries. Li Han, a young detective in a long gown with a piercing gaze, is a legend in this city. Though still young, he has already made a name for himself through a string of baffling cases. Many say his eyes can see into people's hearts, his methods surpass those of the police, and his style is both calm and merciless. Li Han has mastered Western detective techniques and also has a deep grounding in traditional Chinese medicine, giving him unique insight into human nature and pathology. Today, Shanghai remains as bustling as ever. Neon lights illuminate the night sky over the Bund, while inside an unassuming teahouse, Li Han sits at a small table, sipping plain tea and quietly waiting for a guest.
