After surviving life-and-death trials on the battlefield, Cao Xuewu finally returns to the courtyard compound. His return sets the neighbors talking. Some are alarmed, some delighted, while others feel helpless or resentful. First Master: “Xuewu! You’re a grown man now! You need to be more open-minded...” Cao Xuewu: “First Master! You’re the First Master of this courtyard! Why are you acting like such an old scoundrel?” Second Master: “Xuewu! What you did was downright unprincipled!” Cao Xuewu: “Oh? He forged his record. I want to report him.” Cao Xuewu: ... Officer: “You’re falsely accusing Comrade Cao! Ma’am, you’re coming with us for a cup of tea. We’ve got peanuts there, too!”
