Qin Huairu of Siheyuan: Sis Just Wants to Build a Career

Qin Huairu, a top HR director in the 21st century, dies suddenly from overwork and finds herself in the period drama Full Courtyard, as the “pretty widow” Qin Huairu. From the start, it’s her husband’s funeral. Her wicked mother-in-law makes a scene in front of the mourning hall and tries to grab the compensation money, the fake-gentleman neighborhood chief tries to smooth things over, the whole courtyard of scoundrel neighbors is waiting to laugh at her, and she has three hungry children to support. Qin Huairu, who has been single all her life, feels her vision go dark. “Would you take this kind of ‘good fortune’?”

Just as she reaches the depths of despair, the [Winner in Life System] appears out of nowhere.

[Ding! Beginner quest issued: Win the battle to protect your family’s assets!]

From then on, Qin Huairu’s life story is rewritten completely.

She takes down hypocrites, tramples schemers, and outwits the whole courtyard. She makes a flourishing career for herself at the steel mill and establishes a new order in the courtyard!

Silly Zhu: “Sister Qin, I brought you a lunchbox...”

Qin Huairu (handing him a food ration coupon): “Thanks, but I don’t eat for free.”

Yi Zhonghai: “Huairu, you have to consider the bigger picture...”

Qin Huairu (smiling): “Uncle Yi, an HR professional isn’t swayed by moral blackmail. How about we talk about your retirement KPIs?”

Jia Zhangshi: “My son... My money...”

Qin Huairu (sipping her tea): “What was that? The wind’s too loud. I can’t hear you.”

This is the legendary story of a modern office worker who, in the 1960s, uses her wits and the System to rise from a widow who sacrifices everything for her younger brother to “Sister Qin,” the one everyone in the courtyard has to address with respect.
