A Smooth Journey Through Wind and Rain

My name is Shuxin. It is the religious name my master gave me, and that master is none other than my grandfather. Whenever I say this name, I’m filled with warmth and memories. It is like a special key that unlocks the countless ties between me and my family. My family is a geomancy lineage with a long history. In our family’s heritage, the art of feng shui is like a surging river, running through the lives of every generation. With their deep understanding and masterful skill in feng shui, my ancestors left countless legendary tales across this vast land. My name has a special meaning. Grandpa told me that “tree” symbolizes vitality and growth. Like trees in nature, no matter how fiercely the wind and rain assail them, they can take root in the earth and grow upward. Trees are guardians of the land: they absorb the energy of Heaven and Earth, bringing balance and harmony to their surroundings. The character “heart” signifies mindfulness and focus. In the profound art of feng shui, the heart is essential. Only by attentively sensing the subtle changes between Heaven and Earth, and communicating with nature through one’s heart, can one truly grasp the essence of feng shui. Grandpa hopes I will be as resilient as a tree and flourish on the path of feng shui, while always keeping a focused heart, no matter how complicated the feng shui situation I face.
