Uncle Jiu’s Supermarket Apprentice

After transmigrating into Mr. Vampire, Su Yufei becomes Uncle Jiu’s youngest apprentice. Other people apprentice themselves to him to learn talisman drawing. She apprentices herself to... open a supermarket? A peachwood sword? Not as good as her stun gun. Yellow talisman paper? Not as dazzling as her flashbangs. Black dog blood? Not as effective as her... red ink. Uncle Jiu is so furious his beard bristles: “What kind of nonsense is this!” Yet he turns around and protects her with all his might. When zombies come, he steps in front of her. When her senior brothers complain, he takes her side. If she gets hungry in the middle of the night, he sneaks her osmanthus cakes. Su Yufei: “Master, didn’t you say I was being ridiculous?” Uncle Jiu’s ears turn faintly red, but he answers with perfect seriousness: “...You’re frail. You should eat more.” On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, the Ten Thousand Souls Array opens. Xuanjizi surrounds the funeral home with a hundred ghosts and vows to ruin Uncle Jiu’s reputation. Su Yufei hauls out a whole box of fireworks from the supermarket shelves, her eyes curving with a smile. “Old man, ever seen a New Year celebration?” Behind her, Uncle Jiu stands with his sword drawn, watching her from behind with a faint smile. “My apprentice is a little spoiled,” he says. “Please bear with her, everyone.”
