Siheyuan: You Ruined My Marriage, and Now You Want Me to Support You?

Zhou Wenbing accidentally transmigrates into the story of Birds Fill the Courtyard in the 1960s, only to discover that his prospective bride, with whom he was about to walk down the aisle, has called off their engagement after Jia Zhangshi drove a wedge between them. Perhaps evil really does get what’s coming to it: Jia Dongxu has a workplace accident and ends up in the hospital. Yi Zhonghai calls a meeting of the entire courtyard to discuss helping the Jia family, now in dire straits. “Zhou Wenbing, hand over some of your father’s compensation money to help our Jia family!” Jia Zhangshi says, already calculating how much she can get. “You old shrew! You ruined my marriage, and now you expect me to help you?” Zhou Wenbing replies furiously. “I’d be happy to ‘donate’ a couple of stinging slaps instead. How does that sound?” Every last member of the Jia family is as selfish and heartless as a pack of wolves, and now they’re coveting his money too. What a delusion!
