When an immortal receives an official post, they become a god. Gods use their authority to gather cultivation resources, allowing them to advance faster and further. But energy must be conserved: the more people cultivate, the faster resources are depleted. The gods who attained great powers first used their formidable abilities to forcibly separate the largest and richest region from the Immortal Realm, establishing the Divine Realm. They then changed the rules of the Immortal Realm, dividing the energy needed for cultivation into immortal and demonic energies and setting up spatial barriers. Thus came the Immortal and Demon Realms. From then on, becoming a god was nearly impossible: the immortal and demonic energies within one’s body had to reach balance and fuse before one could break through. Yet compared with the vast void, the Immortal and Demon Realms were but a drop in the ocean. A pair of ordinary brothers endure countless trials, journeying from the mortal realm to the cultivation world. One ascends to immortality, while the other becomes a demon. Can they ultimately overcome the obstacles set by the gods? And can they find a solution to the depletion of energy?
